Job Description Education and Experience Requirements: Must have minimum of 2+ years' experience as Chassis and Brake Assembly Technician. A plus having Vocational/Technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field. High school diploma or equivalent education required. Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Required Skills: Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair. Excellent mechanical repair skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, flow charts, and software. Ability to work well independently or in a team environment. Good communication skills. Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Tools and transportation are a must. Drug-free environment
Essential duties and responsibilities: Perform chassis, rework, assemble and tear down parts on vintage trucks. Ability to work on vintage truck parts. Perform routine maintenance and review drivability concerns. Ability to work on chassis builds to include, axels, rear and front driveshaft. Install brakes, transmissions, engines, fuel tanks, bend brakes, steering gear controls, tie rods and other steering components. Be able to bend stainless line, perform fairing and know how to build fuel/brake lines with AN style hardware. Work on frames, suspension components that include struts, shocks, springs and control arms. Perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function. Identify mechanical problems either visually or through diagnostics. Provide timely communication with management and team members regarding the status and applicable needs. Examine critical parts and systems using a standard checklist. Maintain good housekeeping practices. Perform other duties as assigned.
