JOB SUMMARY:
Performs simple wiring and assembly operations on components, sub-assemblies,
systems and may assist in fabrication of major units under general supervision
JOB DUTIES:
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and op sheets
Use color code for component identification
Perform repetitive, preparatory and intermediate wiring functions on chassis, components and sub-assemblies
Perform P.C. board repairs and solder touch-up
May be required to make variety of cables and harnesses using wire boards
May check work for connections, continuity, insulation and other electrical factors using ohmmeters, computer hardware/software and other electrical test equipment
Soldering to military specification
Prepares wires and/or components by cutting to length, tinning, bonding, and attaching terminals
Solders plugs and sockets to cable wires
Identifies wires, twists, sew, ties and laces and makes simple cables
Solders and connects wires to exposed components such as resistor boards, plugs and printed circuit boards
Performs non-precision mechanical assembly operations of electrical and mechanical components
Utilize all hand tools necessary for the performance of duties such as wire stripper, pliers, tweezers, soldering iron, etc.
EDUCATION:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Two or more years experience preferred
