We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cheese Maker to join our team and contribute to our mission of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Cheese Production:
take care of the cheese-making process from milk preparation to final product, ensuring consistent quality and taste.
Monitor and control temperatures, pH levels, and aging conditions for optimal results.
Recipe Development:
Experiment with and develop new cheese recipes to expand the product line.
Adapt traditional methods to create unique cheese varieties while maintaining quality standards.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular tests to ensure products meet regulatory and company quality standards.
Identify and resolve production issues, maintaining a focus on safety and hygiene.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory of raw materials (milk, cultures, rennet, etc.) and finished products.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients.
Equipment Maintenance:
Operate, maintain, and clean all cheese-making equipment to ensure peak performance.
Identify and report equipment issues promptly.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Work closely with the production team and management to meet production goals.
Train and mentor junior staff in cheese-making techniques and best practices.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in cheese making, dairy production, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of cheese-making techniques, equipment, and industry standards.
Strong understanding of microbiology and the chemistry behind cheese production.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Passion for artisan food and a commitment to quality.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in dairy or cheese production is a plus.
Experience with aged cheeses and specialty varieties.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance.
