    Located in the Watsonville-Salinas area of Monterey County, we are a pharmaceutical startup that has been licensed by the DEA to produce Schedule I substances in a highly regulated and secure environment. Our focus is the cultivation of federally legal cannabis for drug development and research. As one of the first companies in the US to receive this approval, we are seeking to grow our team with individuals that thrive on the complex and unpredictable challenges of navigating a new industry.

    Overview: The Chemist is a qualified and experienced laboratory chemist with a general understanding of laboratory processes and analytical procedures. The chemist must be familiar with extraction, fractional distillation, crystallization and other chemical purification techniques. Experience with small molecule chromatography (HPLC/UPLC or GC) is desirable. Experience with botanical extracts is desirable. Experience in a GMP environment is desirable.

    Responsibilities:

    Operation and PM of laboratory extraction and purification equipment.

    Performs routine purification using validated methods.

    Participates in the development of new extraction and purification methods.

    Participates in chromatographic analysis of small molecules.

    General laboratory operation, ordering and organization.

    Conforms to quality system and relevant SOPs

    Performs other tasks as required.

    Required Education, Qualification and Skills:

    Experience (2+ years) with extraction and purification of small molecules is required.

    Eagerness to learn new methods and instrumentation is required.

    A willingness and ability to precisely follow SOPs is required.

    Experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC or GC) is highly desired

    Additional Requirements:

    Must pass a background check

    Must be 21 years of age or older
