    Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Food Beverage Manager at Chevy Chave Country Club located in Glendale, CA. The Assistant Food Beverage Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, monitoring inventory and ordering supplies, assisting with budgeting and financial management, and coordinating training programs for the food and beverage team.

    ● Manages service aspects in all food and beverage assigned areas and events

    ● Manages FOH outlets to ensure proper room preparation, including set-up of tables,

    chairs, linens, table settings, glassware, etc.

    ● Confirms that all service staff are in proper uniform and adhere to the Club’s appearance

    standards

    ● Creates, maintains and distributes weekly schedules for staff and communicates

    changes as appropriate to all

    ● Monitoring attendance, tardiness and time off

    ● Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills

    ● Supervising service team and assisting with tasks as necessary

    ● Training new and current team members on tasks to improve and maintain service

    ● Overall operational knowledge of banquet events and restaurant operations

    ● Overseeing large reservations and ensuring their success

    ● Ensures all closing procedures are being followed by service staff in restaurant and pool areas (following a closing checklist to empire all areas are walked off)

    ● Make rounds of all food and beverage outlets to ensure member/guest needs are met

    ● Completes and administers employee performance appraisals

    ● Conducts weekly beverage inventories and monthly china, glass and silverware

    inventories

    ● Opens and closes dining room(s), bar, and/or Clubhouse on a regular basis.

    Responsible for ensuring Club is secure upon departure and that all lights, equipment,

    doors, etc. are turned off or locked

    ● Acts as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when all other management staff has departed for

    the evening and supervises any remaining staff in the Clubhouse. Works with remaining

    staff to complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner

    ● Controls costs of all food and beverage outlets by assisting management, as requested,

    in purchasing, maintaining effective profit and loss controls and monitoring labor costs

    following demand patterns, budget and local labor laws

    ● Maximizes food and beverage sales by identifying and targeting sales opportunities

    through marketing including promotions and special events and by training staff on

    “up-selling.”

    Qualifications/Experience

    Food Service and Food & Beverage management experience

    Strong customer service skills

    Experience in training and supervising staff

    Budgeting and financial management skills

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

    Experience with event planning and banquets is a plus

    Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
