    Chick-fil-A St. Augustine (CFASTAUG) is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our professional executive leadership team.

    CFASTAUG is now seeking a Chief Operating Officer with the strategic vision, aptitude, and history of accomplishments in operational excellence and change management that promote continuous improvement, agility, and next-level performance. The COO reports directly to the CEO/Owner of the multi-restaurant Chick-fil-A operation in St. Augustine, Florida. As the COO, this individual is responsible for providing vision and strategic direction to two restaurants, which is comprised of 300 employees and a budget of $20 million for the 2023 calendar year. The COO directly supervises two Executive Directors and one Assistant Executive Director. The COO is also responsible for overseeing all operational and training areas of the business. In collaboration with colleagues, the COO plans, coordinates, and prioritizes the work to optimize internal systems and processes and maximize resources and strategies. This position will require the ability to work extended hours Monday thru Saturday, including opening and closing the restaurants and supporting the team as a working COO entrenched in the day-to-day operations of the business.

    KEY PRIORITIES FOR THE COO ARE TO:

    • Facilitate effective change management strategies to optimize operational functions aligned with our organizational values and strategic direction

    • Administer internal audits, assessments, drift correction and developing resulting improvement actions.

    • Assume leadership over our existing operations, training, food quality and food safety programs and collaborate with colleagues to prioritize the health and safety of all employees

    • Partner with teams within and across the organization to shape and evolve a collective vision for operational excellence and key performance indicators to track progress, productivity and profitability

    • Promote operational innovations that increase productivity and profitability

    • Cultivate the knowledge of Executive Directors and teams to understand and articulate the strategic connection between their day-to-day work and success

    • Elevate new ideas and proven strategies to leverage and maximize our resources

    • Contribute to our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) evolution

    EXPERIENCE

    • 8 years (preferred) of progressively more responsible leadership or management of a range of operational functions (hospitality, finance, contracts, training, and information technology) in a Chick-fil-A or restaurant with similar operations

    • Experience in organizations engaged in systems and processes to drive productivity

    • Proven track record of optimizing the effectiveness of operational functions (hospitality, finance, contracts, training, information technology) to achieve organizational goals

    • Significant experience working in collaboration with colleagues and external partners with diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, political and religious views, cultural backgrounds, and lifestyles, with a demonstrated track record of cultivating an environment in which colleagues with diverse backgrounds, positions, and perspectives feel welcomed, valued, and respected

    • Proven track record of guiding teams or organizations through complex business process improvements that facilitate shifting mindsets and new ways of doing things

    • Experience managing projects of various sizes, complexity, resources, levels of risk, and timelines in a highly organized manner and with attention to detail

    • Ability to work on average 60+ average hours per week depending on operational demands

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in hospitality management, business or public administration, business management, finance, or a related field or any combination of or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    • Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Must have at least five (3) years of leadership/supervisory experience.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    The expected starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 (depending on qualifications of the selected candidate ) with a comprehensive benefit package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance plans provided at no employee costs. Other valuable benefits include: profit share bonus program, 401k with matching contributions, paid time off (15 days per year), as well as Free College Tuition at Point University.
