CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (FULL-TIME EXEMPT)
CHADS Coalition for Mental Health is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.
Position Summary
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of annual fundraising efforts. With support from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of Directors (BOD), the CDO holds the responsibility of ensuring that a culture of philanthropy is built and that annual fund goals are met.
Core Functions
Develop the annual fund plan, its budget, calendar, and fundraising projections
Meet annual fund goals determined by the BOD and CEO
Oversee the administration of the fund development database
Support corporate and foundation giving opportunities
Supervise members of the Development Department including the Grants Manager, Marketing/Communications Coordinator, etc.
Continue execution of successful direct mail program
Execute intensive stewardship program
Working closely with the CEO, continue the moves management process for current major donors and help to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects
Oversee planning and implementation of special events with support of special events contractor, development committee, volunteers
Report regularly on fundraising metrics to senior staff and board members
Along with the chair of the board development committee, lead efforts of the committee
Work with contractor(s) to develop materials, promotion strategies and visibility opportunities for programs, services, and events
Manage CHADS’ brand and serve as the agency’s primary authority on standards and guidelines
Write and/or edit content for all company publications, announcements, and editorial copy
Oversight and assist with creation of content of website, social media, e-mail database
Support and direct the Board of Directors regarding all fund development activities
Other responsibilities or duties as mutually agreed upon with the CEO

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
CFRE preferred
Required Experience:
5 years of successful fundraising experience, preferably at social service organizations
Major Gift Campaign experience preferred
Supervisory experience in motivating teams to meet goals
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Share Point, PowerPoint), live video conferencing and Donor Perfect or other similar fundraising software.
This position requires access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Starting Salary: $100,000+
