    Our client, a rapidly growing cannabis company, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial planning and analysis, accounting, and financial operations of the company. The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing financial insight, guidance, and direction to support the company’s business objectives and long-term growth. This role requires a dynamic leader with expertise in managing the unique financial challenges of the cannabis industry, including tax compliance, regulatory constraints, and cash management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all financial functions of the company, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, budgeting, and reporting.
    • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and executive team to support business goals, growth initiatives, and capital allocation decisions.
    • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives, driving profitability and sustainable growth.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial, tax, and cannabis-specific regulations, including Section 280E and banking limitations related to the cannabis industry.
    • Manage financial risk by implementing appropriate internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial exposure.
    • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to the executive team, board of directors, and investors, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
    • Lead capital raising efforts, including debt and equity financing, to support expansion initiatives and operational needs.
    • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet the company’s short-term and long-term operational requirements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including navigating cannabis-related tax issues such as 280E compliance and state-specific excise taxes.
    • Manage relationships with financial institutions, external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, conducting due diligence and providing financial recommendations to support growth opportunities.
    • Mentor and lead the finance and accounting teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and compliance.
    • Collaborate with other departments, including operations, sales, and marketing, to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.
    • Implement and optimize financial software systems and processes to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, with experience in the cannabis, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.
    • In-depth understanding of cannabis industry regulations, including Section 280E, and the complexities of financial management in the cannabis space.
    • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, capital raising, and cash flow management.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial compliance, and tax regulations.
    • Experience managing external audits and maintaining relationships with financial institutions, investors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
    • High level of integrity, transparency, and ability to manage confidential financial information.
    • Proficient in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Compensation: $200,000 - 225,000 plus Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K benefits
