    About the role

    The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in driving the Company's financial strategy, operational excellence, and long-term growth. As a key executive team member, the CFO will lead all aspects of financial management, including the development of scalable financial systems and processes, full implementation of GAAP and POC (percentage-of-completion) accounting principles, FP&A and budget/forecasting M&A integration, and KPI tracking. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on finance leader with a proven track record in scaling businesses, particularly in project-based industries.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Financial Leadership

    • Develop, lead, and integrate the entire Company's finance organization (State-Wide and future partner companies).
    • Provide strategic financial and KPI tracking guidance to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors. This includes scalable, real-time financial performance and KPI tracking to drive operating performance.
    • Develop, document, and own the annual budget process, quarterly forecasting/flash budgets, and broader long-term financial planning processes to ensure alignment with growth targets.

    Financial Operations and Reporting

    • Develop and maintain robust financial and KPI reporting systems/processes for lender, board, and internal management reporting, including overseeing the implementation and management of integrated business intelligence.
    • Transition the Company to full GAAP accounting policies, including percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, implementing scalable and repeatable processes.
    • Develop an efficient and scalable 7-10 day monthly close process.
    • Lead annual audit and tax workstreams.
    • Manage and optimize the Company's procurement process.
    • Oversee and optimize the Company's technology stack in concert with executive management, including using the Company's existing NetSuite ERP system to ensure scalability and efficiency as the business grows.
    • Management of the Company's capital stack and liquidity, including ongoing reporting requirements with lenders.
    • Manage all aspects of the Company's treasury and cash management functions.
    • Optimize all elements of the Company's cash flow management process (AR, AP, etc.) and develop accurate 13-week cash flow forecasts.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance requirements.

    Team Development and Leadership

    • Build and lead a scalable, centralized finance team to support a growing multi-branch operation.
    • Foster a high-performance culture within the finance organization, emphasizing accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    M&A and Integration

    • Highly involved in M&A pipeline development in concert with executive management and business development team, including financial insurance due diligence, forecasting, etc.
    • Develop and implement post-acquisition integration plans to ensure seamless operational and financial alignment.

    KPI Tracking and Operational Support

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to empower branch managers and executives to optimize performance. This includes developing weekly/monthly forward-looking reports.
    • Collaborate with operational leaders to analyze financial data and identify opportunities for improvement in operations and profitability across service lines.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior CFO or VP of Finance roles.
    • Industry experience in commercial services businesses is highly preferred.
    • Proven success in leading scaling finance organizations.
    • Expertise in POC accounting and financial reporting standards.
    • Strong proficiency with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.
    • Advanced knowledge of M&A processes, including financial due diligence and integration.
    • Experience in private equity-backed portfolio companies is strongly preferred.
