    Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Trophy Club is in Trophy Club, TX. Our facility has been open since 2004 and has since become the hospital of choice for residents and patients from across DFW looking for the highest level of care. Our facility is accredited by The Joint Commission. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Trophy Club is a facility in which physicians have an ownership or investment interest. This facility has 9 OR’s. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of Bariatrics, General Surgery, Oral/Maxillofacial, Orthopedics, Spine, Pain Management, Podiatry, Robotics, Urology and GYN. Our 24-hour, 7-day-a-week emergency department is always ready to handle sudden pain or injuries. We also offer extensive onsite diagnostic imaging to expedite treatment.

    Job Summary: Duties and Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for management of nursing service department and for the direction and supervision of all nursing service functions and activities.

    • The CNO is responsible for the quality of patient care and ensures that sufficient and properly prepared personnel carry out the functions of Nursing Services.
    • The CNO is knowledgeable of social, economic and legal issues affecting the health care systems and seeks all opportunities for keeping staff up to date in health care practices.
    • Develops, directs the implementation, and ensures compliance to Standards of Nursing Practice and Standards of Patient Care that promote optimum health care delivery.
    • Has the authority to speak for nursing and exercises final authority over those associated with providing nursing care, treatment, and services.

    Competencies and responsibilities associated with each position are a combination of hospital wide and department specific standards. The department specific standards include the competencies appropriate to the ages of the customer served. The employee’s competencies are evaluated on an on-going basis, and formally documented at least annually as part of the Performance Appraisal process.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
    • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
    • Master's degree in nursing preferred.
    • Demonstrates competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving the delivery of nursing care to patients.
    • Maintain current knowledge and adheres to appropriate regulatory standards (i.e. JCAHO, C.M.S/C.O.P., Medicaid employment regulations, Board of Nurse Examiners.)
    • Possesses qualifications to meet the organizations scope and complexity of nursing care needs of the major patient populations served.
    • A current license as a professional nurse in the State of Texas.
    • Current BLS & ACLS certifications.
