Surface Experts is a growing franchise brand with new franchises joining our system each month. Our headquarters team has grown exponentially to provide great support to our franchisees. We care about our people and want them to love where they work and who they work with. As our system grows, we need to add an experienced head of operations that can help Surface Experts develop the necessary systems and people to provide best-in-class service.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Surface Experts will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operational functions and ensuring that our franchisees have the tools and support they need to succeed. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of franchise operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for fostering growth and efficiency across our brand network.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the performance and efficiency of all franchise operations.
Franchisee Support: Develop positive relationships with franchisees. Work with SE HQ staff to provide ongoing support and guidance to franchisees to ensure compliance with brand standards, operational efficiency, and profitability.
Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of franchise units, identify areas for improvement, and implement action plans to achieve operational excellence.
Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the CFO to develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures.
Strategic Planning: Work with the executive team to develop and execute long-term strategic plans that align with the company's growth and expansion goals. Collaborate with Franchise Advisory Committee to help set short- and long-term initiatives.
Talent Management: Oversee the training and development of operations staff to build a high-performing team. Participate on the leadership team.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all franchise operations adhere to legal, regulatory, and company standards, and mitigate risks through proactive management.
Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational processes, franchisee satisfaction, and overall brand performance.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management within the franchise industry.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage teams across multiple locations.
Strategic Thinker: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with franchisees, executive leadership, and employees.
Financial Acumen: Proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, and performance management.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
