    Position Overview:
    The Chief Pharmacist will lead pharmacy operations at a state-operated hospital, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing staff and inventory, and optimizing medication administration systems. This role requires strategic oversight to maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.
    • Licensure: Active Pharmacist license from the State Pharmacy Board.
    • Experience: 5+ years in pharmacy management, preferably in a hospital or psychiatric environment.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in automated pharmacy software and inventory systems.
    • Soft Skills: Strong policy development and implementation abilities, Excellent communication for interdisciplinary collaboration, Adaptability to evolving pharmacology trends and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including purchasing, inventory, and budgeting.
    • Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, Joint Commission standards, and safety protocols.
    • Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff; optimize automated medication systems.
    • Develop policies for medication storage, distribution, and infection control.
    • Maintain accreditation through continuous process improvement.
