    Job Summary
    As the Chief of Primary Care, you will join one of Massachusetts largest multi-specialty, multi physician group practice, providing care for communities just south of Boston. This full-time position involves approximately 60-70% leadership/administrative duties and 30-40% clinical duties.

    The Chief Physician of Primary Care is responsible for the overall performance of ambulatory primary care services, including both adult and pediatric patients. Key responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, quality, regulatory compliance, operations and resource allocation, financial performance, and strategy. The Chief works in a dyad relationship with the Director of the Primary Care Service Line to oversee the delivery of primary care across the medical group. The Chief of Primary Care will be an integral member of the leadership team reporting directly to the President of the group Medical Group

    General Responsibilities:

    • This is a full time 40 hour/week onsite position with both clinical and administrative duties. (60% administrative/40% clinical approximately)
    • Provides coaching and development to direct reports include Section Chiefs covering both Adult and Pediatric Practices, Medical Director of OBAT, Medical Director of ACO and Medical Director of Urgent Care.
    • Works collaboratively in a DYAD model alongside Service Line Director.
    • Collaborates across the Healthcare System, building effective relationships with Physician leaders in other departments, implementing system wide process improvements that support patient care.
    • Engages the department in building and sustaining a shared culture across primary care that is aligned with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
    • Manages provider performance addressing issues such as performance concerns, setting expectations, holding providers accountable and monitoring progress.
    • Achieves growth of the total primary care panel through effective recruitment, hiring, onboarding and retention of Primary Care provider staff.
    • Maintains strong patient focus with an emphasis on Safety, Quality and Patient Experience.

    Requirements:

    • M.D. or D.O., Board Certified in Family/Internal Medicine.
    • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Massachusetts or ability to obtain one.
    • 5+ years of active outpatient practice experience required.
    • 2+ years of previous leadership experience required.
    • Proven experience in leading physicians and implementing change.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Experience in safety net programs preferred.
