All Sport Health and Fitness is hiring for a new positon at the club. We are a growing locally owned company that has been a fixture of the community for over 35 years. We are hiring for a School Age Child Care Counselor.
Qualifications: (Minimum Education and Experience)
Must be 18 years of age or high school graduate.
1 year experience in working with children.
Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR.
Must submit health history record and examination form prior to first day of work.
Complete a Fingerprint Identification and NYS State Register Clearance
Complete a minimum of thirty (30) hours of training every two years. 15 hours must be obtained during the first six months of employment.
Position Purpose:
Counselors are the primary caregivers for the children. The Counselor is responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding children in their personal growth and daily living skills.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of children in their group within activities and throughout the program in order to meet the intended outcomes.
Apply basic youth development principles in working with children through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, involvement and empowerment of youth.
Assures children are properly supervised at all times.
Be aware of and implement safety guidelines.
Participate in the development and implementation of program activities for children within the mission and outcomes.
Responsible for leading or assisting with the teaching of activities.
Actively participate in all program areas as assigned.
Provide for a progression of activities within the framework of individual and group interests and abilities.
Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for children and staff.
Provide the daily care of each child within your supervision including recognition of personal health needs.
Be alert to children and staff needs and assist them with personal and/or health problems.
Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure utilization, proper care, and maintenance is adhered to; report repairs needed promptly to director.
Be a role model to children and staff in your attitude and behavior.
Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures.
Set a good example to children and others in regard to general program procedures and practices including sanitation, schedule, and sportsmanship.
Represent the program when interacting with parents or community members.
Provide parents appropriate feedback and information as needed for their children to have a successful experience.
Follow safety and security protocols when children are in public while presenting a positive image of the program.
Other Job Duties:
Contribute to verbal and written evaluations and communication as requested.
Participate enthusiastically in all program activities, planning, and leading those assigned.
Identify other tasks or duties that this position may be expected to perform but are not necessarily the primary focus of this position.
Position includes the usage of the inside and outside club at All Sport.
