    About You

    You are a board-certified or board-eligible Child Psychiatrist with a passion for consultation-liaison work. You thrive on managing complex cases, particularly those involving challenging pediatric patients, and are motivated by the opportunity to make a significant impact in a clinical setting. You are also interested in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students. You hold or are eligible for a Tennessee medical license, and you are eager to contribute to a growing program with a potential for academic advancement. You are a self-starter, capable of working independently, and are comfortable in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

    What You Will Do

    As the Consultation-Liaison Director of Child Psychiatry, you will:

    • Provide clinical care to pediatric patients, focusing on consultation services at Niswonger Children’s Hospital, handling some of the most complex cases.
    • Spend 80% of your time in clinical practice, with 20% dedicated to academic and administrative activities, including teaching and supervising residents and medical students.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for children with complex psychiatric and medical needs.
    • Engage in research and scholarly activities, with opportunities for academic promotion and tenure.
    • Work a regular 7.5-hour day, Monday through Friday, with minimal call responsibilities (1 weekend per quarter).
