Position: Child Therapist (Play Therapist) Location: Washington, DC Employment Type: Part-Time

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Therapist specializing in play therapy to join our team in a community-based setting in Washington, DC. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by helping children address emotional and behavioral challenges through therapeutic play.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide play therapy to children to address emotional, developmental, and behavioral concerns.

Conduct assessments and collaborate with families to develop individualized treatment plans.

Utilize evidence-based play therapy techniques to help children process emotions and build coping skills.

Communicate effectively with caregivers, providing guidance and support to enhance treatment outcomes.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care for children and their families.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.

Active licensure in Washington, DC (LPC, LGPC, LGSW, or LICSW.

Specialized training and experience in play therapy.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Passion for working with children and their families in a community setting.

Schedule:

Part-time only, with flexible hours during office hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
