    Position Summary:
    The Child Welfare Social Worker will play a key role in supporting the foster care program at FLITE Center, focusing on the well-being, safety, and development of young adults transitioning from foster care. The ideal candidate will work directly with these young adults to assess their needs, develop individualized care plans, and connect them with vital resources. The social worker will also collaborate with community partners, child welfare agencies, and families to ensure a holistic approach to support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Client Support: Provide direct case management services to young adults transitioning out of foster care, conducting assessments and developing personalized care plans to meet their unique needs.
    • Resource Coordination: Connect clients with community resources, such as housing, education, employment, and mental health services, ensuring they have the support needed to successfully transition to independence.
    • Crisis Intervention: Respond to immediate crises and provide short-term intervention services, including conflict resolution, emotional support, and resource referral.
    • Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of young adults in foster care, working closely with child welfare agencies, schools, and other service providers to ensure comprehensive support.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely case files, documenting client progress, service plans, and outcomes. Prepare necessary reports for program evaluation and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, attending team meetings and collaborating with other professionals to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
    • Outreach and Engagement: Actively engage with foster care youth, families, and other stakeholders through outreach initiatives, educational programs, and community events.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree in Social Work preferred).
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in child welfare or foster care services.
    • Strong understanding of the foster care system, child welfare regulations, and the challenges faced by youth aging out of the system.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young adults and community partners.
    • Ability to manage a diverse caseload, prioritize tasks, and respond to crises effectively.
    • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and experience providing trauma-related services.
    • Proficiency in case management software and other relevant technology.
