Position Overview:
The Chiropractic Assistant/Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the chiropractic/orthopedic/pain management team and ensuring a smooth patient experience. This position involves a blend of administrative and clinical responsibilities, including patient interactions, assisting in treatment procedures, managing office tasks, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive at the clinic and prepare them for their appointments.
- Collect and record patient information, including medical history, insurance details, and other relevant data.
- Assist physicians as needed.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, exercises, and self-care techniques.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment, including treatment areas and waiting rooms.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising chiropractor.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the team to provide exceptional patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions to improve clinic operations and patient services.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical assisting or chiropractic assistance preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a chiropractic or medical office, is a plus.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and chiropractic principles.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using office software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
