Job Description

AECOM is seeking out a well qualified and motivated Senior Civil Designer with a background in transportation / multimodal design for an amazing role in our Denver, CO office.

• Senior technical resource which will serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing roadway / highway / multimodal PS&E packages.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects
• Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
• Lead drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
• Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications
• Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager
• Oversee the work of less experienced designers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science + 10 - 15 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Experience with design software including MicroStation and OpenRoads.
• Experience designing highway/roadway/multimodal systems in Colorado.
• Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Construction Plans.
