    Job Description

    The Civil Project Manager is responsible for the design of a wide range of projects in the residential, commercial and industrial market segments. Additionally, in-depth knowledge of current state and local development and permitting processes and ensuring compliance to these processes. Responsible for maintaining consistent and appropriate communication with the client, contractors and public officials involved with each project, developing and enhancing client relationships to secure repeat business.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare site and subdivision plans for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
    • Design of storm water management, storm sewer plans and profiles, outfall analysis, sanitary sewer plans and profiles, water line plans and profiles, water network analysis, public street design, erosion and sediment control plans, fire lane plans, pavement designs, pavement striping and signage plans, maintenance of traffic plans, bond estimates and bond reductions.
    • Review local zoning codes, preliminary entitlements, process requirement submittals and permitting requirements.
    • Assist clients with bonding and permitting procedures.
    • Assist in maintaining client relationships by providing exceptional services and quality through our deliverable.
    • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    • Leadership skills and the ability to meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to the client.
    • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
    • Track project milestones and deliverables.
    • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
    • Prepare status reports for the Project Manager, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
    • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
    • Define project success criteria and disseminate to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
    • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
    • Assist in conducting project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
    • Five - Ten years progressive experience in civil engineering design including: water and sanitary sewer pipelines, roadway design for City and County projects, civil site design and drainage.
    • Professional P.E. license in the state of South Carolina, preferred, or E.I.T.
    • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor and appearance and perform well under project constraints and deadlines.
    • Database and operating systems experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
    • Competent and proficient understanding of platforms, such as Hydrologic & Hydraulic modeling software such as: HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS, TR-55, HEC-RAS,
    • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Flow Master, Culvert Master, Storm CAD, Infoworks and XP-SWMM...
    • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
    • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
    • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
    • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
    • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
