SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections to assess structural and civil engineering components of disaster-damaged infrastructure.
- Develop and review designs, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, including damage assessments, recovery strategies, and compliance findings.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to document and manage project records with full transparency.
- Provide technical expertise on determination memorandums, appeals, and compliance with FEMA's Public Assistance guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including program delivery managers and site inspectors, to develop recovery solutions.
- Stay updated with FEMA policies, procedures, and training requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with:
- 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
- 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal – Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, building codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for analysis and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina
- Initial deployments are expected to be 12 months
