We are looking for a proactive, results-oriented, independent and experienced Civil Engineering Manager with an excellent proven record of working in transit and rail projects.
Responsibilities
Leadership: Oversee a team of engineers, consultants, etc. and provide strategic direction to multiple infrastructure projects
Project Management: Manage multiple complex transit and rail projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule. Assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies and implement quality controls measures.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including public transportation agencies, private developers, and government entities.
Business Development: Identify new project opportunities, develop proposals, and lead client presentations.
Technical Expertise:
Provide technical expertise in the design, development, and implementation of transit and rail projects.
Conduct comprehensive site investigations, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents (as needed).
Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and project timelines.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, including Caltrans, the California State Water Resources Control Board, and local jurisdictions, to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, regulatory, federal and state agencies including multiple contractors from different fields.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, regulations, and technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in California required.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in transit, rail, and construction projects.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong understanding of California environmental regulations and right-of-way requirements.
In-depth knowledge of California environmental regulations and right-of-way requirements.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience with public transportation agencies (e.g., Caltrans, BART, Metro).
Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.
