    We provide quality, cost-effective engineering services to state and local governments and private-sector clients across New York State and Pennsylvania. Our project portfolio features experience in bridge, highway, and structural design; condition and safety inspection; civil and site engineering support; construction inspection and administration; survey and mapping; and hydrographic services.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    We have an open position at our Syracuse, Rochester or Buffalo offices for an engineer with civil and wastewater-focused experience of 3+ years'.

    What you'll be able to do:

    • Feasibility studies, design calculations, specifications, 3D modeling, plan development, construction cost estimates, and support of work / environmental permitting applications
    • Participate in field condition inspections, safety assessments, and produce appropriate technical reports of findings
    • Provide construction administration support for Requests for Information (RFI's) and submittals. Special inspection field visits when required
    • Represent Prudent Engineering at project meetings, as needed

    The minimum requirements we seek:

    • BS in Civil Engineering preferred with 3+ years' experience
    • EIT preferred
    • Experience with civil and ancillary design (e.g., closed drainage, water service, sanitary sewer, stormwater management practices, etc.)
    • Proficient with: Bentley MicroStation V8i and Inroads SS10 or Connect Edition, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Excel / Word
    • Additional experience with any of the following would be a plus: bridge design, hydraulics (HEC-RAS), GIS, bank stabilization, survey, emergency action plans, fish passage, wetland delineation, and water control structure operations
    • Ability to work primarily independent on project assignments, with support from more experienced engineers
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
