Qualifications:
High School graduate
One year of office experience preferred Computer experience
Excellent phone manners and organizational skills
Reports to:
Administrator/Director of Nursing
Performance Criteria:
Answers the telephone promptly and courteously.
Responsible for accurate documentation of intake information.
Responsible for appropriate staffing of aides. Collaborates with the Nursing department when applicable.
Responsible for notifying RN when the patient is hospitalized.
Maintain communication with the hospital discharge planner to receive appropriate discharge paperwork.
Notify the Nursing department of hospital discharges. Maintain appropriate staffing if the RN determines a post-hospital visit is required.
Responsible for notifying the nursing department and when applicable, the care coordinator of any change in a patient's status.
Responsible to be an advocate for patients and patient representatives.
Responsible for maintaining occurrence documentation in the office. Accountable for communication and documentation to the Nursing department.
Responsible for “on-call” when indicated on the on-call schedule.
Maintains appropriate documentation on an on-call log.
Communicate with the on-call nurse when appropriate.
Responsible for the initial interview of aides.
Collaborates with the nursing department in the performance evaluation process for aides as it pertains to timeliness, punctuality, and continuity.
Assist with the implementation of the aide in-service calendar.
Assists supervisor in introducing office policy and procedure to new hires at orientation to the agency.
Assist in the marketing of the agency where needed.
Responsible for maintaining minimum overtime hours.
Assists with tasks that may need completion (filing, photocopying, review of paperwork, mailing, etc.).
