Client Relations Transportation Director

JMT is seeking a Client Relations Transportation Director for any of our Texas locations. The successful leader will be responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining client relationships that result in sustainable and profitable business; seeking, developing and securing new business opportunities, developing and implementing strategic business and tactical action plans and participating in related transportation marketing and business activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a strong and diverse business/industry network
Develop relationships with new/existing clients to discover project and program information
Conduct market research and gather information on potential markets, clients and projects
Coordinate strategic growth plan with transportation practice leadership
Develop, monitor and implement strategic business and action plans for potential markets, clients and projects
Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
Monitor client performance trends/issues utilizing our client relationship management platform (CRM)
Obtain feedback from clients to assess past JMT performance. Facilitate development of corrective action plans, as necessary
Monitor select policy and industry conditions/trends and provide regular reports to Texas Regional and firm leadership
Actively participate in / maintain leadership positions in client and industry organizations, conferences, and events. (e.g. ACEC, ASHE, SASHTO, WASHTO, TSPE, etc.)
Serve as liaison to key national industry organizations (e.g. ACEC, ASHE, SASHTO, WASHTO, TSPE, etc.)
Participate in training and development of future JMT leaders
Support recruiting efforts of strategic hires
Support risk management and red team review on large, strategic projects and pursuits

Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree
20+ years of related experience
Comprehensive knowledge of firm’s practice areas, clients and competition with a focus on transportation planning and development.
Demonstrated experience leading others
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledgeable of the RFP structure and proposal process
Strong understanding of A/E industry terminology, business practices and delivery methods
Experience working with local clients at the state, county, and major municipality level
Qualifications Preferred
Professional Texas Registration
Project management and/or business development experience
