    Position Details

    • Location: 1901 South Cedar Street, Tacoma, WA 98406
    • Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts (closed weekends and holidays)

    Position Summary

    The Purchasing Specialist plays a vital role in managing and optimizing procurement processes within the organization. This position ensures cost-effective purchasing, vendor management, and seamless supply chain operations to support the clinical and administrative functions of the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Procurement & Vendor Management: Oversee purchase requisitions, negotiate vendor contracts, and maintain supplier relationships.
    • Inventory & Logistics: Coordinate the receipt, unpacking, and distribution of supplies across multiple clinic locations.
    • Compliance & Cost Control: Ensure purchasing activities align with company policies, cost-efficiency, and industry standards.
    • Strategic Purchasing: Develop purchasing plans that enhance cost savings and operational efficiency.
    • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely and accurate supply delivery.
    • Backup Support: Provide coverage for purchasing-related responsibilities in the absence of the Purchasing Clerk/Courier.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 2-4 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • Industry Knowledge: 1+ year of healthcare industry experience, ideally in billing or procurement.
    • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills.
    • Tech Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), NetSuite, and Adobe preferred.
