    Job Summary: 

    The Clinic Nurse works with the Clinic team to coordinate the care and services of  patients across the continuum of illness. The Clinic Nurse performs general nursing care to patients and will accurately collect, document, and report patient condition/history/care. The Clinic Nurse also promote patient independence, helps establish patient goals, educates patients on health maintenance, and provides case management (e.g., obtaining referrals and authorizations; coordinating infusion/transfusion schedules; renewing medications; ordering labs) all under the supervision of the attending physician.

    Essential Duties:

    Patient Care

    • Conduct nursing assessments and education per clinic protocols.
    • Document patient services in electronic medical records.
    • Execute physician orders and follow up on lab results.
    • Assist with administrative tasks and patient preparation.
    • Engage in cross-training within the care team.

    Medication Administration

    • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
    • Monitor patient conditions and provide medication education.

    Case Management

    • Coordinate care under physician supervision, including referrals and medication renewals.
    • Serve as a liaison among providers, patients, and community resources.

    Regulatory Compliance

    • Maintain a safe environment by following health regulations.
    • Protect patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Participate in clinic studies and support patient recruitment.
    • Attend required training and professional development.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing (RN) program
    • Minimum 2 years nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory setting
    • Experience working with Hematology patients
    • Experience working with peripheral and central line IV access
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)

    Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: 

    • Active CA State Registered Nurse (RN) License
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
    • HIPAA training
