Our Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a team member that is passionate about serving our community of patients and enjoys working in a team! Some technical requirements for this position are:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Washington.
- Skills in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to apply ongoing patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Experience in ambulatory care, or willingness to learn.
- Convenient if bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Laotian, English/Cambodian, English/Vietnamese, and/or ability to sign.
- Candidate has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check in relation to the position applied for.
Day to Day:
- Provide holistic nursing assessments and education to the medical patients of YNHS through direct and/or telephone contact.
- Assist medical team members in the coordination of patient care through patient intake, assessments, treatments and procedures.
- Prepares equipment and aids practitioners during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician-assistants, and midwives. Dispense medications as directed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of YNHS policies, protocols, standing orders and quality assurance standards.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with healthcare and social service professionals in the community serving YNHS patients.
- Work cooperatively with student nurses, modeling and directing clinic nurse activities.
- Participate actively in staff in-service trainings and nurse meetings.
- Provide nursing services to special populations when needed (correctional facilities,
- KidScreen, treatment centers, senior centers, etc.).
- Work in coordination with other YNHS staff to develop education programs for YNHS patients and staff.
- Maintain organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.
- Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested.
- Perform related work and other tasks as requested.
