Job description
Keystone is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization in York County, South Carolina. We offer internationally accredited and licensed services including education, prevention and treatment to meet the needs of individuals, families, and groups that are experiencing alcohol and/or drug related problems. We are seeking Clinical Counselor to join our team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for ALL CLINICAL COUNSELORS:
Core Functions: The primary role of a Certified Addictions Counselor is to establish a therapeutic relationship while assisting clients in the recognition of problem areas that exist which may prohibit a successful recovery. To this end, the following core functions are utilized in the certification process to assure competence of the Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC).
Acquires and maintains credentialing as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC-IP or ADC) through SCAADAC. Follows the SCAADAC code of ethics.
Maintains patient record in compliance with all governing bodies to include, DAODAS, DHEC, CARF and DHHS (Medicaid).
Maintains a caseload as assigned by Supervisor.
Obtains and maintains a working knowledge of ASAM PPC2-R and DSM 5 criteria for substance use disorders.
Observes, trains, and becomes proficient in all treatment programs; to include working knowledge of program curriculums.
Works within various programs to provide staff coverage of group, individual, or assessment sessions.
Participates as a Peer Review Auditor when requested.
Requires regular and reliable attendance.
Remains current by attending Safety Trainings, mandatory trainings/licensure, and receiving an annual TB screening.
Proficiency with MS Office applications and Medical Records software applications, emails, etc.
Administer the GPRA and follow up forms at appropriate times.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited program preferred, Bachelor Degree in human service related field from a regionally accredited program required (such as counseling, social work or psychology). Other degrees will be considered based on relevance to position and acceptability to DAODAS/SCAADAC for credentialing purposes. Related work experience desirable.
