General Description: Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Engineering, Clinical Equipment Technician is accountable for testing, inspecting, routine and preventative maintenance, installations and programming of patient care equipment and systems throughout Parrish Healthcare’s organization. Performs highly skilled work of considerable difficulty. May specialize in certain types of equipment. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment, such as vital sign monitors, telemetry units, infusion pumps, patient beds, stretchers, and handheld consumables (i.e. thermometer, pulse oximeters, otoscope sets, etc.).
Assists in the maintenance of the RTLS, equipment tracking system, for medical equipment. Keeps record of works performed on individual trackers, along with changing batteries when necessary.
Advises the staff on proper use and maintenance of equipment. Communicates with vendors, technicians, physicians, managers, and other internal customers regarding scheduling of maintenance and repairs, status, and follow-up.
Responds to major medical equipment failures which impact patient safety or patient care.
Utilize work order system to document works performed and equipment maintained. Creates and completes work orders correctly. Enters clear comments and test results for work completed. Logs time correctly.
Provides courteous service to visitors, patients, staff, vendors and co-workers as part of the organization’s commitment to quality services. Practices good team work with all in the shop.
Keeps work areas orderly, clean and safe. Applies proper safety procedures in the use of tools, machinery, and supplies, including the use of appropriate safety equipment and apparel.
Communicate with third-party personnel/vendors regarding the scheduling of maintenance, repairs, and follow-ups on related subject matter.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Formal Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required. Associates degree or Trades experience preferred.
Work Experience:
1 to 2 years hands on work experience in a Hospital, experience with electrical/mechanical devices or third-party Service Organization.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
Valid State of Florida Drivers License (FDL) and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is acceptable to PMC’s corporate automobile insurance carrier — license will be screened prior to employment and annually thereafter.
