    Job Overview
    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The Intake Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing patient intake processes, ensuring that all necessary information is collected efficiently and accurately. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

    Duties

    • Greet patients and visitors at the front desk, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
    • Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
    • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
    • Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits, including Medicare coverage.
    • Maintain accurate records using Meditech or similar health information management systems.
    • Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and care delivery.
    • Handle inquiries from patients regarding services, appointments, and billing.
    • Support the administrative team with various office tasks as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience as an office or medical receptionist is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Medicare processes and health information management is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Meditech.
    • Understanding of ICD-9 coding is beneficial but not required.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and staff professionally.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
    • A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
