Job Overview: AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services at the 6th Medical Group, MacDill AFB, FL. The Clinical Psychologist will conduct evaluations, establish diagnoses, and provide individual and group therapy. This role involves working closely with medical and surgical patients, providing rehabilitation support, and participating in various professional activities and meetings. The Clinical Psychologist must work within the guidelines of their state licensing board, the American Psychological Association, and MTF privileges.
General Duties:
Clinical Privileges: Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.
Contractual Obligations: Perform tasks as per the basic contract and outlined duties.
Specific Duties:
Psychological Evaluations: Conduct evaluations utilizing clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources. Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
Therapeutic Services: Provide psychological treatment for individuals, groups, and families. Assist medical and surgical patients with illnesses or injuries, offer rehabilitation support, and conduct therapy for alcohol and drug treatment.
Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records. Produce reports of evaluations and treatments as required.
Consultation: Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as needed.
Training and Participation: Attend and participate in meetings and professional activities, including Quality Improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, and other relevant meetings as required by MTF regulations. Participate in military-specific training related to command-directed evaluations, PTSD, combat stress, and other relevant topics.
Ethical Practice: Practice within the guidelines of state licensing boards, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles, and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
Degree/Education: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). Must be a graduate from an American Psychological Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. No additional certifications required.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a licensed clinical psychologist. Must meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instruction, DHA-PM 6025.13, Volume 4. Proficiency with computer systems, including word processing, data management, and spreadsheet analysis.
Board Certification: Not required.
Licensure/Registration: Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in conducting psychological evaluations and treatments.
Strong knowledge of psychological testing, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based therapies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Work Schedule: Services are to be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700-1630 for a 9-hour shift, including an uncompensated 60-minute meal break. The Clinical Psychologist will not be required to provide services in excess of 40 hours per week.
