    K2 is searching for a Clinical Research Navigator for our Orlando clinic and the external sites it supports.

    Description:

    As a Clinical Research Navigator, you will play a vital role in connecting patients with research opportunities, facilitating their participation in clinical trials, and supporting the advancement of medical knowledge through the clinical research as a care option concept embedded into a clinical practice. You will be responsible for guiding patients through the research process, addressing their concerns, and coordinating with the research team to ensure a seamless experience. This role is responsible for conducting pre-screening, chart reviewing, patient follow-up, trial matching, facilitating education and ensuring seamless coordination between patients and research clinics or other relevant resources. This role will be based out of our clinical partnership’s offices.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Patient Engagement: Identify eligible patients within the internal medicine practice who may benefit from participating in clinical research studies. Educate patients about the potential benefits, risks, and requirements of participation, promoting informed decision-making.
    • Prescreening: Conduct thorough pre-screenings of potential research participants to assess their eligibility for clinical trials. Gather relevant medical information and coordinate with the research team to determine suitability for participation.
    • Chart Reviewing: Review patient medical charts and records to identify potential research opportunities and ensure accurate documentation of patient data and eligibility criteria.
    • Patient Follow-up: Maintain regular contact with enrolled patients, providing updates on research study progress, answering queries, and addressing concerns. Serve as a point of contact for patients, building strong relationships based on trust and empathy.
    • Trial Match: Collaborate with research teams to match eligible patients with appropriate clinical trials, considering their medical history, preferences, and availability. Ensure accurate and timely communication of study opportunities to potential participants.
    • Coordination: Facilitate seamless coordination between patients and research clinics or other resources. Assist in scheduling appointments, arranging transportation if needed, and ensuring all necessary documentation and consent forms are completed accurately.
    • Resource Referral: Identify and connect patients with additional resources beyond clinical trials, such as support groups, patient advocacy organizations, or educational materials, based on their needs and preferences.
    • Compliance and Ethics: Uphold all ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements related to clinical research activities. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, research activities, and outcomes in compliance with established protocols and procedures.
    • Communication: Maintain and facilitate open and accurate communication with clinic staff and K2 staff. Understand and be knowledgeable of the clinic’s policies and guidelines and be always respectful of the staff and practices. Participate in all clinic activities as part of the staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of clinical research principles, procedures, and regulations.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex medical information in a clear and friendly manner.

    • Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
    • Must be Bilingual Spanish/English
    • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with advancements in clinical research.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (preferred).
    • Experience working in a clinical research or patient navigation role is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of clinical research methods, protocols, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, ICH-GCP).
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with patients, physicians, and research staff.
    • Empathetic and patient-centered approach, ensuring a supportive and caring experience for patients.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other clinical software.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to interpret medical records and lab results.
    • Applicants must be bilingual in English and in Spanish
