The clinical therapist works as a member of an integrated primary care team to provide outpatient counseling. The clinical therapist will provide support and treatment of a variety of behavioral health and substance use disorders within a diverse adult population. This role is within an integrated system of medical providers, the behavioral health team, and other auxiliary services. The clinical therapist will provide clinical consult to the team while maintaining a caseload of patients. The clinical therapist will have robust clinical skills within evidence-based therapeutic interventions to allow patients to meet their clinical goals.

_ Essential Job Functions:_
**** Patient Services
• Provide one-on-one counseling to patients within Novus’ system and community partners. Will provide in-person and virtual sessions as requested.
• Use evidence-based interventions during sessions to meet the needs of the population.
• Have working knowledge and competence to treat a diverse population, including large population of LGBTQIA+ patients.
• Operate from a person-centered, trauma-informed framework.
• Conduct screening tools within session to track patient progress and general mental health (PHQ-9, GAD-7, C-SSRS, etc.).
• Provide consultation to primary care staff/patients, within interdisciplinary team meetings and in clinic on a case-by-case basis
• Develop/maintain a working knowledge of resources within the community and within other roles at Novus for appropriate referrals, including higher level of care and case management.
• Provide crisis assessment and triage as needed.
• Work with patients and providers to identify manageable treatment goals and create collaborative care plan; monitor care plan compliance/progress.
• Plan and provide behavioral health/psychoeducational groups as appropriate for patients and community.
• Coordinate/conduct quarterly behavioral health in-service trainings for staff with a focus on integrated, trauma-informed care.
General Duties
• Maintain awareness of federal, state, and county laws and regulations, local requirements and policy impacting funding and service delivery.
• Complete documentation of services in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, follow clinic protocols, and adhere to all applicable ethical and legal standards of service delivery.
• Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.
• Exhibit excellent working relations with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Effectively communicate NOVUS Health’s mission.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.

Job Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited school of social work with a master’s degree and licensed (LCSW) in the state of Missouri; additionally licensed in Illinois preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in counseling
• Have strong clinical judgement and the ability to problem solve within the code of ethics.
• Interest in continuing education and professional growth
• Experience in integrated care/primary care setting preferred.
• Proficient computer skills (i.e., Electronic Medical Record; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access; and Web-based applications).
• Access to reliable transportation.
