    About Us:

    Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services (NEDFYS) is a nonprofit agency based in Addison. Our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible community-based mental health and social services to underserved residents by providing individual counseling services, group therapy for adolescents, partnering with community agencies and schools, and crisis intervention services in conjunction with area police departments.

    The Clinical Therapist 1 position will provide clients direct clinical services (individual, group, family). The Associate Therapist’s caseload may include court-involved youth, at-risk youth in alternative school settings, youth, parents/guardians, and families referred to NEDFYS by public elementary, middle- and high schools and other community partners. Therapy services may include family treatment with high-risk adolescents and individual and couples’ treatment.

    Job Responsibilities

    Provide therapeutic counseling to individuals, couples, and families

    Conduct a minimum of 22 individual counseling sessions per week, ensuring documentation is completed according to agency standards and within required timeframes.

    Support and/or facilitate weekly community groups

    Complete and maintain all client documentation, case notes, and electronic health records in compliance with agency policies and HIPAA regulations.

    Prepare and submit client reports to external entities (e.g., courts, schools, law enforcement) as required.

    Adhere to agency confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance for both written and verbal client information at all times.

    Independently manage client schedules, files, and data collection, serving as the primary contact for clients on the assigned caseload with minimal oversight.

    Participate in agency staff trainings as assigned by the supervisor, including mandatory Medicaid-related trainings and updates

    Ensure familiarity with Medicaid documentation and assessment requirements, including completing IM-CANS assessments starting in the spring.

    Attend weekly supervision meetings to review cases, professional development, and agency policies.

    Conduct home-based counseling sessions; when necessary

    Crisis-Intervention & Follow-Up Job Responsibilities

    Provide on-call coverage for a minimum 3 days per month; On-Call Crisis Coverage Shifts are 24 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 AM the following morning

    After receiving Crisis Intervention Training, follow all NEDFYS protocols and procedures regarding crisis intervention

    Requirements

    Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

    Licensure or license eligibility (e.g., LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC) in the state of Illinois.

    Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

    Knowledge of Medicaid requirements, including IM-CANS (training will be provided if needed).

    Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision and maintain compliance with agency and regulatory standards.

    Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
