  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Manage and maintain server infrastructure, cloud and on-prem (VMWare, Azure)

    • Manage and maintain server operating systems (Server 2016 and newer)

    • Monitoring and optimizing server performance and resource utilization

    • Develop, perform, and monitor regular backups

    • Assist in developing testing, and executing disaster recovery

    • Works with the Security team to implement and maintain security measures to protect servers from threats; Vulnerability and Patch Management

    • Work closely with network administrators for configuration of virtual networks, DNS, DHCP and more

    • Implement security and compliance measures

    • Manage and audit user access

    • Provide Tier 3 support for server and server application related issues

    • Work closely with other IT team members to plan and implement IT projects.

    • Mentor peers regarding cloud architecture and best practices

    • Maintain up-to-date documentation of server configurations, processes, and procedures.

    • Participate in on-call support rotation as needed.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

    • Master's degree may be preferred for some senior-level positions.

    • Certifications:

    • Certifications from major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP can be highly valuable.

    • Relevant certifications may include:

      • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

      • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

      • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

      • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect

    • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of operating systems like Linux and Windows.

    • Proficiency in networking concepts (DNS, VPNs, firewalls).

    • Experience with virtualization technologies.

    • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash).

    • Understanding of cloud security best practices.

    • Professional Experience:

    • 2-5 years of experience in IT or cloud computing.

    • Experience with one or more major cloud platforms.

    • Hands-on experience with cloud administration tasks like:

      • Provisioning and managing cloud resources

      • Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud environments

      • Implementing security measures

      • Optimizing cloud costs

    • Preferred Experience Requirements/Specific Skill-sets
