    Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer - Data Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code

    Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

    Employee Status:Full-Time

    Purpose:

    We're seeking an exceptional individual to join our team in Lincoln, Nebraska, to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge cloud solutions. You will be instrumental in building and managing our Azure data infrastructure, including Data Factory, Databricks, Logic Apps, and SQL Server. Your expertise in CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code will be crucial to our continued success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and implement Azure infrastructure solutions, including key services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure SQL Server.

    • Design and create robust CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools to automate the deployment of both infrastructure and application code.

    • Manage and optimize cloud resources within Azure, including Azure Compute and Azure Storage services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and performance of our data solutions.

    • Establish and enforce standards and best practices for data and infrastructure pipelines and processes within Azure DevOps.

    • Implement and maintain best practices for data security, data privacy, and compliance within the Azure environment, ensuring robust data governance and integrity.

    • Oversee the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) on Azure and provide support to application developers in accessing and utilizing data effectively.

    • Create comprehensive documentation for data architectures, data processes, and data pipelines within Azure, and develop reports for stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

    • Assist with essential database procedures on Azure SQL Server and other relevant databases, such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations.

    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand business requirements and implement appropriate cloud data architectures on Azure.

    • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in cloud data engineering and Azure services, proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of our Azure data infrastructure.

    • Clearly communicate complex technical topics and analyses to both technical and non-technical personnel.

    • Provide assistance to the Network Helpdesk and engineers as needed.

    • Regular and timely attendance in the office is an essential function of the job.

    Work Requirements, Experience, Education, and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience1 in cloud services and data architecture, specifically within the Microsoft Azure platform. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.

    • Preferred certifications in one or more Microsoft Azure areas, such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Microsoft 365 Certified.

    • Strong knowledge and practical experience with modern cloud data architectures and engineering best practices for the Azure platform.

    • Preferred experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.

    • Proven experience implementing cloud data architecture and various data integration patterns using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.

    • Preferred knowledge and experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL tuning techniques for performance optimization within Azure SQL Server.

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, effectively managing time and prioritizing responsibilities.
