  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The CAD Technician is the source of innovation for Clow Valve’s Foundry Tooling Center. Strategically working to draft, create and improve on all parts of the Foundry casting process allowing for world class product manufacturing.

    _ KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:_

    _ Sustainability:_

    a. Create 60+ approved complete tooling models and prints per year.

    b. Develop and maintain foundry specific Tooling Standards Manual.

    _ Leadership:_

    a. Complete 2 position based professional development opportunities per year. ****

    CORE FUNCTIONS:

    1. Project Management (70%): Work with business partners, internal and external customers to evaluate and produce full tooling models utilizing SolidWorks. Translate rough sketches, specifications, and ideas into detailed drawings to ensure drawings comply with project specified requirements. Ensure all customers are satisfied with end results and approve of final designs.

    2. Documentation Organization (20%): Create a library and manage all CAD related documentations for the Foundry Tooling Center from the ground up by organizing and maintaining CAD files and project documentations. Assisting in the development and maintenance of current and future CAD procedures.

    3. Customer Relations (5%): Invite collaboration with business partners and internal/external customers by building and strengthening relationships, in the interest of continuous improvement and CAD designs. Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues with current designs and proactively work to create flawless castings for Clow.

    4. Professional improvement (5%): Continuous learning and professional development improves and encourages innovation, communication, and leadership. Seek out opportunities for professional development by way of educational courses, training sessions, or collaboration with business partners.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Technical Skills:

    SolidWorks and MS office program packages. Experience using precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, and 3D scanning equipment desired.

    Education & Experience:

    _ Required:_

    A certified CAD operator with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in SolidWorks within a manufacturing environment.

    _ Preferred:_

    Associate’s Degree with 2 years’ experience in SolidWorks within a manufacturing environment.
