    Title: Club 56 Elementary Sunday School Teacher FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hours: 3 hours plus 1 hour prep (potential to grow) Rate: $25/hour

    Position Summary The Club 56 Elementary Sunday School Teacher works under the Elementary Manager and Children’s Ministry Director to teach our 5th and 6th Grade students on Sunday mornings during both services. Club 56 is a wonderful transition between our Elementary programming and West Side Youth. These students will be asking more in-depth questions about their Faith and making big decisions in this class. Hours from 10:30-1:30pm (this includes prep time and time in between services) as well as 1 hour of prep during the week (all lesson plans provided to you by Elementary Manager - this role does NOT require weekly lesson planning).

    Job Description Teaching

    Read through lesson plans well in advance and be prepared to teach upon arrival

    Teach lessons in ways that are gospel-centered and biblical

    Utilizes a variety of classroom management strategies in teaching

    Help set and clean up classrooms

    Effectively lead volunteers in a classroom setting to create a fun, safe and enriching learning environment.

    Connect students with RWS leaders should they choose to pursue membership.

    Professional Development

    Attend all training sessions per school year, including volunteer trainings and the anti-harassment training. (trainings typically happen on a Sunday, after service)

    Lead Morning Meeting (meeting before each service) with volunteers

    Greet and build rapport with parents during pick-up time

    Communicate with the Elementary Manager to help improve class time and lessons

    Feedback from Manager

    Adjust teaching based on feedback from the manager and needs of the students.

    Alignment and passion for Redeemer’s vision to serve New York City

    Gospel-oriented heart to serve God, families, and youth in New York City

    Commitment to the theology and traditions of the Reformed faith

    Experience in teaching or babysitting elementary/middle school aged children

    Ability to maintain calm, caring professionalism during crises or unexpected situations

    Compensation: $25.00 - $25.00 per hour

    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
