    Job Description

    AECOM has a position available for a Club Ride Active Transportation Coordinator in Las Vegas, NV. In this role the proven active transportation professional will help lead the bicycle and pedestrian outreach and engagement efforts for the Regional Transportation Commission’s Club Ride program.

    Club Ride works with the business community, regional stakeholders and residents to reduce traffic congestion and travel emissions in Southern Nevada. The program provides education, services and promotions that encourage the use of transit, active transportation, carpooling and vanpooling as a means to improve quality of live in the community.

    AECOM is responsible for the comprehensive management of Club Ride. This includes an outreach team responsible for developing community relationships and maintaining a network of employer and community partners that implement commute options programs. It also includes the oversight of a multi-disciplinary team of subconsultants that fulfill regional marketing and communications along with specialized strategies to expand the program’s reach and impact.

    The Active Transportation Coordinator collaborates with RTC’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Active Transportation team to assist in planning, scheduling and managing the operations of bicycle and pedestrian community outreach events. This role is responsible for maintaining a network of bicycle and pedestrian stakeholders, providing input on planning and policy and serves as an ‘on the ground’ source for information distribution. The Active Transportation Coordinator maintains a comprehensive schedule of events, assists with outreach and marketing for bikeshare, and delivers active transportation campaigns and promotions.

    As the Club Ride Active Transportation Coordinator, you will be the stakeholder liaison and primary point of contact for the MPO, Government Affairs, Media and Marketing (GAMM), RTC leadership, contractors and community leaders to establish annual objectives and key results. You will own the planning and scheduling, as well as managing the operations of bike and pedestrian community outreach events. By working closely with MPO Planning, you will develop a comprehensive schedule of events based on community needs and established KPIs.

    The Active Transportation Coordinator will ensure each event is executed smoothly, enhancing community engagement and promoting active transportation. You will ensure the program is presented in a professional and effective manner.

    ** The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:**

    Performs a range of outreach, planning, communications and collaboration activities to enhance community engagement and promote active transportation including:

    • Act as a liaison between the RTC, community advocates for bicycling and pedestrian transportation, and local, regional, state and federal government agencies
    • Advocate for and promote bicycle and pedestrian issues, plans and projects throughout Southern Nevada in coordination with stakeholders and non-profit advocacy organizations; Provide input on active transportation and micromobility plans and policies throughout Southern Nevada
    • Conduct recurring meetings with key stakeholders (RTC officials, local businesses, community groups) to gather input and feedback
    • Maintain membership in League for American Bicyclists (LAB) and pursue/maintain League Certified Instructor (LCI) status; coordinate with Club Ride’s Account Managers on LAB’s bicycle friendly business/city programs
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual event calendar that includes:
      • Club Ride operated modal promotions: Bike Month (May), Biketober (October)
      • Partner-operated events that the Active Transportation team participates in such as First Fridays and community rides
      • School safety events, learn-to-ride activities and other bicycle-focused community and elected official events
    • Coordinate with educational institutions, municipal Public Works departments, law enforcement/public safety agencies, Safe Routes to School representatives, and community stakeholder groups to develop and implement programs and messages that increase safety and improve access for cyclists and walkers
    • Support RTC Bike Share marketing and outreach by promoting bike family clinics and tabling at community events targeted at expansion areas
    • Support programs and initiatives that promote bike safety and bike maintenance to a variety of audiences and skill sets within Southern Nevada
    • Support and conduct bike and pedestrian events (either delivered by Club Ride or in partnership with organizations like the League of American Bicyclists) such as: safety education; bicycle repair/maintenance clinics; bike rodeos; helmet fittings; crosswalk training; and other related bike/ped safety events
    • Develop a bike/ped communications plan in partnership with the Club Ride marketing team members and resources
    • Promote national and regional bicycle and pedestrian campaigns in collaboration with RTC, (e.g., National Bike Month (Bike Week and Bike Day)) and garner support from public, non-profit, and business agencies for bicycling and pedestrian related initiatives

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Relevant, demonstrated professional experience in active transportation planning and policy experience, shared micromobility services, end-of-trip services, and/or community events/outreach
    • Experience using Microsoft Office computer applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Customer Relationship Management and community engagement experience
    • Previous Outreach and public event experience
    • Valid US Driver’s License is required for this position. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
    • The ability to lift and carry presentation equipment that may weigh up to 30 lbs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in planning, education, public health, recreation, public administration, or a closely related field
    • 4 years of full-time demonstrated professional experience in active transportation programs, shared micromobility services, end-of-trip services, and/or community events/outreach

    Additional Information

    • There will be a balance of required in-office and field work, including frequent travel to various employer locations to conduct outreach activities
    • Field office work will require reliable transportation
    • Preparation and Presentation on subject matter may be requested during Interview process
