Coaching Field Coordinator
Mentored by: Director of Childhood Development
Direct Reports: Part-time coaches, Assistant Coaches, Camp Coaches, and Volunteer Coaches
Key Role:
The Coaching Coordinator works closely with the Director of Childhood Development to build a dynamic and successful Coaching team. This position is responsible for the training, team building, coverage, curriculum support, on-field production, completing evaluations, leading meetings, and coaching. This position is 80% coaching on the field and coaching tasks, and 20% in the office.
Job Summary:
Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):
- Holds coaches accountable and follows up when necessary
- Oversees and completes on-field evaluations for all team members
- Trains our trainers
- Seeks out talent to promote internal team members
- Assists with the development and continued training of the coaching team
- Assists in researching, creating, and improving training methods for the coaching team
- Attends weekly coaching department meetings (has read or is reading Traction, EOS)
- Serves as one of the first subs for absences or if coaches leave during the season
- Assists with monthly team meetings
- Holds coaching group meetings monthly, creates agenda
- Represents Soccer Shots in the community, and Soccer Shots run events, a minimum of 1 time per quarter (not to include our Tournaments)

Requirements:
- Must have completed 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units [Legal Requirement]
- Proof of a TB test within the past 2 years from the date of hire; proof of a new TB test must be taken every 2 years
- Proof of Pediatric CPR Certification must be completed within 90 days of the start date; Pediatric CPR Certification must be reissued every 2 years
- Completion of the Mandated Reporter Training; certification required
- Continued training in Child Development, Education, and Leadership
- Experience mentoring or managing other professionals
- Train coaches on communication policies and preschool experience.
- Lead and organize departmental meetings
- Develops other educators
- Lead positive discipline training and coaching development meetings
- Availability 90% of Soccer Shots business hours, Saturdays required
- Coach 5-25 Soccer Shots classes
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to classes all over San Diego and San Diego County
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
Hours & Pay
Pay range - $21-$26.50 per hour - (IRS Mileage Reimbursement Rate)
Full-time position that includes the following (without completion of units)
- 5.4 days of accrued vacation a year
- 5 sick days per year
- 30-40 hours a week,
- Mileage reimbursement
- $60 monthly cell phone reimbursement
