  • Responsibilities

    SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

    ‬‬‬ Responsibilities

    • Conduct detailed assessments of coastal infrastructure impacted by natural disasters, including erosion, storm surge, and flooding.
    • Develop and implement engineering solutions for coastal protection and resilience, ensuring compliance with FEMA's Public Assistance guidelines.
    • Prepare and review technical reports, plans, and designs to support disaster recovery efforts.
    • Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal for documentation, reporting, and transparency.
    • Provide expertise on determination memorandums, appeals, and compliance with FEMA regulations.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver sustainable coastal engineering solutions.Stay current with FEMA policies and complete required training courses.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Coastal, or Environmental Engineering with:
      • 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
      • 10 years of experience in a related field.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
    • Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
      • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
      • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
      • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
      • IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
      • IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
      • 7116: Program Delivery Manager
      • 7117: Site Inspection
    • Proficiency in engineering software and tools for coastal analysis and design.
    • In-depth knowledge of coastal processes, infrastructure, and environmental regulations.
    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Work onsite in North Carolina.
    • EOD Required.
