COFFEE HOUSE AND FARMERS MARKET LEAD
Overview of Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Bonton Farm’s Coffee Shop & Farmers Market Lead to oversee our coffee shop and farmers market operations and enhance our community engagement efforts. This role will involve coordinating market activities, managing vendor relationships, and promoting our coffee shop’s offerings. This role will involve overseeing staff, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering community involvement through events and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about local agriculture, sustainability, and community building.
Responsibilities:
Staff Leadership:
Supervise and train staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Schedule shifts and manage staff performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
Promote a positive team culture and encourage professional development.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily coffee house operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.
Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and overseeing equipment maintenance.
Market Coordination:
Plan and execute weekly farmers market events, including setup, operations, and breakdown.
Collaborate with local farmers and vendors to secure high-quality products.
Community Engagement:
Promote the farmers market and coffee shop through social media, newsletters, and community outreach.
Foster a welcoming environment for customers and vendors alike.
Sales and Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service and educate patrons about products and local sourcing.
Qualifications:
Passion for coffee, local agriculture, and non-profit/mission-based work.
Minimum 1 years’ experience in lead role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with social media and marketing strategies.
Flexibility to work weekends and early mornings.
Experience in event planning, farmers markets, or retail management preferred.
Experience in food service, hospitality, or retail management preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Basic knowledge of financial management and point-of-sale systems.
