    Job Description

    Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Head Equestrian Coach. The successful candidate will be tasked with recruiting, coaching, and mentoring students to continue the success of the Colby Community College Equestrian Team program. The Head Equestrian Coach is a twelve-month, non-faculty, non-instructional position and is anticipated to be a minimum of 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work/travel is required for practice and competitions both in and out of state.

    DUTIES

    • The ability to coach, recruit, motivate, inspire, and mentor equestrian team members to be competitive on a national level.
    • Responsible for assessing, recruiting, instructing, and retaining highly skilled student-athletes for the CCC Equestrian Team.
    • Maintaining a regular practice schedule at CCC.
    • Traveling with students for practices and competitions is required, including both in-state and out-of-state.
    • Assist with the care and management of the CCC Equine Unit and horses. Additional barn duties will be assigned.
    • Hosting the Colby Community College IHSA equestrian shows, as well as coordinating special events.
    • Participation in College events, Agriculture Division events, Ag Sports events, and community events.
    • Serve on College committees, as requested.
    • Participating in fundraising events related to Equestrian Team, the Agriculture Division, and the College.
    • Encouraging students to participate in volunteer work in the community, as well as personally providing community service.

    SALARY
    $40,050-$42,750

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Experience working in and competing with equestrian teams and horse shows is required.
    • Coaching experience preferred.
