Job Summary

In addition, this position provides financial counseling services to members when needed with the intention of developing sound financial practices and the avoidance of bankruptcy. This position is responsible for performing the collection activities while balancing the goodwill of members with the overall business interests of NorthRidge and it's membership.
Responsibilities
Work within the collection ques. Make members contact via text, email, phone. Update collections notes. Works with members to help with payments, insurance claims or other needs that created a past due status and working to find a solution that benefits the member and the Credit Union.
Advises and counsels members of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment. Work with members on payment plans for charged off loans. File judgments, liens, and garnishments as appropriate. Processes skip-a-pays on loans. Answers members questions. negative share accounts, reports to chexsystems when appropriate.
Works with attorneys in foreclosures and bankruptcies. Ensuring all documents are submitted in a timely matter.
Works back up with CPI adding premiums, contacting members, and adjusting payments.
Stays current on collection process knowledge and trends in loan underwriting that contribute to delinquent/charged-off loans. Remains in compliance with regulations and follows all BSA policy and procedures including the completion of annual BSA training.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
One to three years of similiar or related experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows systems.
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to perform in a goal-oriented environment
Customer-oriented approach to handling problems
