    Summary of Responsibilities

    The Estimator oversees key aspects of our commercial construction projects in pre-construction. This includes managing bids, estimating costs, and coordinating with the Project Superintendent on schedules. You will be handling purchase orders and change orders, communicating with clients regarding budget, and ensuring all actions align with Hazley Commercial Construction’s core vision and values. This position reports to the VP of Commercial Construction.

    Essential Functions

    • Bid & Relationship Management:
      • Seek bid opportunities and build relationships.
      • Coordinate site surveys and manage pre-construction subcontractors.
      • Develop preliminary schedules and bid documents.
    • Estimating:
      • Create bidders' lists, send invitations, and track responses.
      • Perform material and labor take-offs, and manage Pre-Construction activities.
      • Assess bids and present final estimates to the VP of Commercial Construction.
    • Proposal & Pre-construction:
      • Collaborate on final contracts and proposals.
      • Identify contract details and prepare contingencies.
      • Publish the final production schedule and manage permits.
    • General:
      • Lead by example and maintain professionalism.
      • Build strong relationships with team members and Subcontractors.
      • Stay updated on industry trends and follow company policies.

    Education, Experience, and Skills Required

    • 5+ years of Estimating experience
    • 3+ years of Procore experience (or similar software)
    • Commercial construction experience
    • Experience vetting subcontractors, writing contract language, and doing takeoffs
    • 2+ years of Project Management experience, preferred
    • Tech savvy
    • Leadership skills

    Compensation

    • $105,000-$125,000 starting salary
    • 401k with 4% match
    • Discretionary spot and holiday bonuses depending on company performance
