  • Responsibilities

    We are recruiting for our client, who is seeking a dynamic and talented Commercial Electrical Estimator to join their Preconstruction team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a skilled team of estimators and engineers working on impactful electrical projects in the Charlotte, NC area. As an estimator, you’ll help develop competitive proposals and accurate cost estimates, making a lasting impact on the community while bringing innovative solutions to the table.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the full cycle of estimating and analysis, with support from Senior Estimators.
    • Review project plans and specifications to ensure all required information is provided.
    • Develop detailed cost estimates by gathering pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
    • Provide quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with Senior Estimator or VP of Preconstruction.
    • Mentor Junior Estimators, offering hands-on experience and leadership to aid in their growth.
    • Participate in design-assist project stages.
    • Meet critical deadlines and maintain high accuracy in estimates.
    • Visit jobsites periodically for coordination and assessment.

    Must Have:

    • Prior experience in estimating or construction engineering/construction management.
    • Ability to read plans and specifications for select disciplines.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, BluBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, PowerPoint; estimating and scheduling software knowledge a plus.

    Nice to Have:

    • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (5+ years of electrical construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent math and accounting skills.
    • Ability to understand and interpret construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Team-oriented, with an ability to collaborate effectively.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Professional communication skills for both internal teams and external clients.
