Commercial Hood Cleaning Technician $18-$23 per hour based on experience

Position Description: We are looking for a Hood Cleaning Lead Technician to join our growing team! This position involves cleaning commercial kitchen exhaust systems and ensuring compliance with safety and fire prevention regulations. We offer on-the-job training – no experience required! However, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, janitorial cleaning, pressure washing, or previous hood cleaning experience is a plus.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Current Valid Driver’s License

Reliable transportation to and from office location in Des Moines

Ability to drive a company vehicle, including pulling a small trailer to job sites

Ability to list and carry up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in tight spaces

Comfortable working in various conditions (hot, cold, humid, greasy, etc.)

Availability to work nights, early mornings, and some weekends

Ability to work independently and follow instructions efficiently

Fluent in English and able to communicate clearly with customers and team members

Core Responsibilities:

Set up and take down cleaning equipment, including ladders, plastic sheeting, chemical solutions, vacuums, and high-pressure hoses.

Scrape grease buildup from exhaust hoods, fans, and ducts.

Use pressure-washing equipment to thoroughly clean kitchen exhaust systems.

Ensure all work is completed in compliance with industry safety standards and fire prevention regulations.

Conduct final cleanup of kitchen areas, including wiping down hoods, mopping floors, and removing debris.

Report any mechanical issues to management with customer or company equipment.
