    Location: Remote (Preferred locations: Omaha, NE, or St. Louis, MO)
    Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
    Salary: $80,000 per year + performance-based bonuses up to 20%

    Position Overview

    The Commercial Irrigation Estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates for a variety of commercial irrigation projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, industry knowledge, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with contractors, analyze project plans, and ensure competitive pricing.

    Key Responsibilities

    Estimate Preparation & Project Analysis

    • Source bids through various platforms and contractor relationships
    • Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions remotely
    • Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for design-build and spec projects
    • Conduct cost analyses , including labor hours, materials, and equipment

    Client & Contractor Relationship Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors throughout the estimation process
    • Build and maintain strong professional relationships via phone and email
    • Ensure clear communication and timely responses to client inquiries

    Sales & Business Development

    • Perform daily follow-ups on active estimates to nurture leads and close opportunities
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for winning bids
    • Drive efforts to achieve annual sales targets and contribute to sustainable growth

    Collaboration & Coordination

    • Work closely with project management teams to ensure seamless project transitions
    • Provide feedback and insights to improve estimation processes and project planning
    • Deliver detailed handoff reports to the operations team for contract execution

    Industry Knowledge & Market Growth

    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in commercial irrigation
    • Identify business development opportunities to expand the company's portfolio

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Proven experience in estimating commercial projects, construction, or a related field
    • Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, commercial construction practices, and project management
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects
    • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to provide documentation to verify eligibility.

    Preferred

    • Experience with design-build and spec job estimation

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

    • Primarily remote work
    • Frequent repetitive hand and arm motions with prolonged periods of sitting
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, listen, and reach with hands and arms
    • Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for keyboarding and handling equipment
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
    • Noise level is typically low to moderate
