Commercial Litigation Associate – New York & New Jersey

Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate with a minimum of four years of substantive litigation experience to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator to work on complex commercial litigation matters, collaborating with senior counsel while independently managing cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and decision-making
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, Orders to Show Cause, and other key litigation documents
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, arbitrations, and appeals
• Conduct and participate in depositions
• Maintain effective communication with courts, clients, and opposing counsel
• Stay up to date on legal developments, industry trends, and best practices to provide high-quality legal representation

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey
• Minimum of four years of commercial litigation experience in a sophisticated legal environment
• Strong knowledge of New York’s CPLR, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and other relevant legal frameworks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software
• Experience with e-discovery and electronic document management systems
• Self-motivated and analytical, with strong critical-thinking skills
• Strong commercial and business acumen, with a focus on providing innovative and practical legal solutions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with strong academic credentials
